Ostend Airport in 'ACI 2009 world top 100 airports' and 'ACI 2009 European top 30 airports' rankings

The airport management is pleased to inform you that - in spite of the decrease in freight figures of last year - Ostend-Bruges International Airport takes up the 29th position in the European ranking of top 30 freight airports in 2009 and the 94th position in the ranking of 2009 world top 100 freight airports. These figures are provided by Airports Council International (ACI) and were published in the December 2010 Volume 9, Issue 4 (pages 46-54) of Airline Cargo Management.

Within the framework of the publication of these rankings, the Managing Director/CEO of Ostend Airport, Mr. Gino Vanspauwen, emphasizes his intention to at least maintain in the future the position of Ostend-Bruges International Airport in both rankings. The CEO states that - after the 2 'best years ever' in 2005 and 2007 with respectively 108,260 tons and 108,953 tons, the airport will do its utmost to achieve on short term the goal of 120,000 tons.
