Traffic 2009 DESPITE OF WORLDWIDE CRISIS, OSTEND-BRUGES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT STANDS FIRM. Although all forecasts showed that the crisis would also relentlessly strike at Ostend-Bruges International Airport, the revival of freight traffic during the month of December 2009 reduced the decrease of freight traffic in 2009 compared to the year 2008 to only 10.6% (freight traffic in the month of December 2009 increased by 4.7% compared to the month of December 2008). This revival is due to the good cooperation between the airport and home carriers MK Airlines, EgyptAir, ANA/World Airways and Meridian Airways. The slight decrease of passenger traffic is caused by the cancelation of the destinations Corfu and Djerba.
